Things I Remember from my Childhood
I was born
on September 14th in 1987 in San Vito, Coto Brus, Puntarenas. San Vito is a
small town known as Italian Colony due to a lot of Italian migrants who came to
live there about 100 years ago. There, in San Vito, I have my family, aunts,
uncles, cousins and my grandparents, I always go there to visit my grandmother
Alicia, I really love to be there.
During my
first six years I used to be in the field. While my uncles were sowing, I was
playing with the cows or crossing the rivers. Those were nice moments! Every
night I liked to hear stories from my uncles in the outside of my grandmother’s
house, some of those stories were scary.
When I was
six years old my parents decided to move to Guápiles. I was so sad when they
decided it because I had to be apart from my family. I didn't know anything
about Guapiles; it was a bad experience. I was away from my friends and my
family but I found new friends and new experiences.
At 9 years
old I learned to skate and to make a lot of tricks but I was always with
scraped knees, I had a lot of accidents in my skates. I also remember some weekends of my childhood, while my mom was cooking rice with chicken I was
playing with my neighbors and swimming in the pool.
During my
childhood I learned a lot of important things for my life such as being
responsible and to love my studies. Since I was a little girl I loved to learn
about art and in general for some cultural aspects. I was always dancing in the
school; I loved to participate in dance performances.
I have a
lot of memories about my childhood but the most important memory is that my parents
gave me a lot of values, they taught me the importance of being a professional
and now this is what makes the woman I am today, full of passion and love for
this life.
